Fuchsia Show 2009.

Nida and I are members of the Black Country Fuchsia Society.

The Annual Show was held on August 8th and 9th.

Nida exhibits her plants here, usually winning some prizes. This

year was no exception, winning two first prizes and six seconds

against some strong competition. Some of the best fuchsia

growers in the country are here.

In the picture Nida is receiving a trophy from our President, with

our Show Secretary and members and friends looking on.

In the picture Nida is seen with her Standard Fuchsia (Lilian Annette).

This won her a First Prize. In the backgroud there is a Patio Planter

for which Nida received a Second Prize.

Another First Prize for Nida was her exhibit to "Depict the Name of

a Fuchsia". The name of her fuchsia was Dancing Flame.

Nida and I headed for Worcestershire on 17th July to play for the

Friday Night Dance at Gilt Edge, near Kidderminster.

It was nice to see a good attendance and meet up with our friends

once again. The above picture was taken on that evening.

On the afternoon of Wednesday 15th July I was invited to play for a

Tea Dance at the R.C. Parish Centre at Sedgley.

We had an enjoyable afternoon, with more than fifty people attending.

Visit To "The Secret Garden."

On the evening of Monday 13th July, Nida and I, along with members

of Fuchsia and Flower Societies, visited the garden of Mr. Derek

Higgott, of Little Haywood in Staffordshire, known as the "Secret Garden".

We found this a fascinating place, with surprises at every turn.

After our tour of the garden we were invited to take refreshment.

We were served tea and coffee and homemade cake, which was

delicious.

In the picture our host, Derek, is standing among us and I am seen

in the background raising my coffee cup.

The above picture was taken on our visit to Bedworth Solo Club on the

evening of Easter Monday 13th April 2009. During the break from the

dancing, I am playing for the Easter Bonnet Parade.

Nida and I really enjoy enjoy our visits to this club and the friendly people

there.
